Real Bride Feature: Lindsey & Garrick’s Moody, Romantic Celebration at Redland Family Farm | Portland Oregon Wedding Day

Some love stories feel like fate, and for Lindsey and Garrick, their journey was nothing short of magical. From a chance meeting at The Allison Inn and Spa to a snowy, heartfelt proposal in Utah, their love story is filled with unforgettable moments. Read on for bridal inspo from their stunning Portland Oregon wedding day.

How It All Began

“We met at The Allison Inn and Spa where we both worked.

When he took me home to meet his family for the first time in Utah back in 2017, he took me to his favorite viewpoint out by his dad’s house. In 2019, we went there for Christmas, and he took me up to the viewpoint with his family and proposed there. It was a gorgeous, snowy morning, and he proposed on the 27th, which is one of my lucky numbers. He was sneaky and did it AFTER Christmas. I was shocked!”

Finding “The One” (The Dress, That Is!)

“I saw it randomly on Instagram and KNEW I needed to have it. I reached out all over the Portland area, but no one had it in stock, and I was told it was discontinued. I reached out to Bespoke, and within a day they had ordered a sample of it to be delivered that weekend. My cousin and I made a weekend trip to Bend, and it was absolutely meant to be when I tried it on!”

“I tried on maybe seven dresses before trying on ‘the one.’ I didn’t even have it on all the way and I said, ‘Oh yeah, this is it.’ It felt like it was MADE for me. It was exactly what I had envisioned my entire life, and it was finally happening. It took maybe 20 minutes to get through the dresses, and once I had it on, we got to spend the rest of our appointment taking pictures, FaceTiming friends and family, and planning the rest of the wedding around it. It was 2020, Covid times, so we had the entire place to ourselves. It was absolutely magical.”

Her advice to future brides? “Go with your gut and don’t give up! I heard 10 no’s about having it in stock or being able to get the dress before asking Bespoke, and they made it happen!”

The Wedding Day

What were you most excited about for your wedding day?

“Having all our friends and family from different avenues of our lives all together to celebrate us. It was magical.”

Describe your wedding in three words.

“Romantic, Classic, Moody.”

What was your wedding theme or color palette?

“Moody!! Black, burgundy, mauve, and gold.”

What was the most memorable moment of the day?

“Most memorable moment was walking into our reception together. We felt like total celebrities LOL. We walked/danced in to Tina Turner’s ‘Simply the Best’ and it was so much fun.”

Did anything unexpected or funny happen?

“We had the best man dress in my mom’s wedding dress for a fake-out first look. It was SO FUNNY!! I also think because the Covid restrictions lifted literally one week before our wedding, everyone was just ready to party. Seeing some of our friends who are usually so put-together get a little crazy on the dance floor was so fun! Everyone was just so happy to be together.”

Any special traditions or personal touches you incorporated?

“My uncle officiated the wedding and surprised us with using my Grandpa’s Bible for the ceremony. He didn’t tell us until we were up there, and it made me so emotional and felt his presence with us. We also tried to incorporate our parents and grandparents with a wall of black and white photos labeled ‘generations of love.’ We are here because of them. It made it super special for our families.”
